Samantha Chan

Samantha is a PhD candidate at the Augmented Human Lab (AHLab) within the Auckland Bioengineering Institute, The University of Auckland. She completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Engineering Product Development, Electrical Engineering) at Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). Formerly an undergraduate researcher at SUTD-Massachusetts Institute of Technology International Design Center.

Her PhD topic is titled: “Biosignal-Sensitive Memory Improvement and Support Systems”. Her work explores the use “biosignals” or “physiological signals” (natural body signals and responses), such as heart-rate variability, skin conductance and eye-movements to peer deeper into users’ internal context and cognitive states, providing just-in-time delivery of memory interventions.
